I can't think of any plugins/scripts I have that would interfere with FSGRW's injection. I would say maybe I was seeing 50-80 km? That's too short. 圎nviro did draw clouds to 200km for me until they faded into the gray hazy muck which is realistic. Now that I think about it 圎nviro did this too though it was almost instantaneously with no FPS drop. When this happens the FPS goes from solid locked 30 to 5 and then it shoots back up to my locked rate of 30. My problem is every 5 minutes the clouds will suddenly vanish for about 2 seconds and then reappear. The clouds looked great when I tried it out last night and that was the first time I'd seen a rain storm that looked believable in X-Plane. I don't doubt that other weather engines can generate beautiful skyscapes but I don't want beautiful, I want realistic, ymmv. Compared to what I see in my real world flights in small GA, the cloud formations generated by X-Plane and FSGRW are more realistic. I have a sneaking suspicion that we have become so used over the years to the painterly artistic cloud formations generated with flat 2d textures, that when faced with realistic volumetric clouds, we think that they look fake. I have never seen the clouds disappear, I know what you mean but I haven't seen that happen. Try this lua script, it might help you with the visibility issue, personally I don't use it and make sure that 圎nviro is off or remove the folder to ensure no conflicts. Just like to add that I don't have any of these problems with FSGRW weather injection. Have a look at your real world weather settings in X-Plane, mine is set to 120 minute updates and FSGRW is set to 5 minute updates. There were scattered clouds at 1400' around Palomar and a beautiful coastal marine layer of fog blown in from the sea over the mountains around Silverado. The two screenshots below are from my latest flight, flown early morning at 4500' from Palomar to Los Alamitos in the default C172 with three FSEconomy passengers on board. The feeling of flying under, over and around 3d volumetric clouds in VFR is beautiful, you can't get that with 圎nviro. The combination of XP11 rc2 (beta) with FSGRW is giving me beautiful, realistic and accurate cloud systems and winds. I purchased FS Global Real Weather years ago when flying in FSX and P3D, and, as it also works with X-Plane, I thought I'd give it a try. For those who don't know, FSGRW doesn't add cloud textures or change the sky colours, it just injects real weather systems into the simulation, and it does this with 99% accuracy. something is always wrong. The cloud systems that it generates can look nice but then VFR suddenly turns into IFR zero visibility with no warning or a ridiculously strong crosswind appears when you're on final out of nowhere and the immersion is gone. I have tried to use 圎nviro so many times, yet it never manages to portray the real weather accurately ever. Coming from a long history of FSX and P3D, I approached XP11 convinced that to get a realistic experience, I needed to pay for a fully featured weather engine. ![]() ![]() The stitching and material feels neat and comfotable. Our sleeping bag can be used in 3 seasons with a design temperature of 50℉- 68℉(10℃-20℃). Comfortably fits most campers up to 5 FEET, 11 INCH tall. If you don't need an EVF, the compact Canon SX260 HS is currently selling for the same price (down from its original $350 asking price) and is a better camera overall, but budget shooters who are looking for a long zoom camera with eye-level framing capability should consider the X600-just make sure to understand its weak points. ![]() The rear LCD is so-so in terms of quality, but the eye-level EVF is better than I'd expect from a $200 camera. It's slow to start and shoot, but can fire off shots in rapid succession. Its video and image quality isn't spectacular, but still images are good at lower ISOs and acceptable through ISO 800. When you consider its features and asking price, the GE X600 represents a good value-with some compromises. Like most point-and-shoots, the camera uses SD, SDHC, and SDXC memory cards. There's a micro HDMI port to connect to an HDTV, and a micro USB port that allows you to plug the camera into your computer for data transfer or into the included AC adapter for battery charging. The camera can zoom in or out when recording, and you can hear the lens moving as it does so-there's no mic input, so there's no way around this. It shows up when there is motion in your frame or if you pan the camera-the top half of your video moves more quickly than the bottom half, giving footage a bit of a rubber pencil effect. I recommend grabbing footage at the lower 720p60 resolution-the faster frame rate helps to reduce the evidence of the rolling shutter effect, which is very troublesome at 1080p30. Video is recorded in 1080p30 or 720p60 quality in QuickTime format. If you can keep the camera set to ISO 400 or lower your images will look better, especially when printed, but ISO 800 will work for sharing on the Web. In terms of noise, which can harm image detail, the X600 keeps it under 1.5 percent through ISO 800-but it would appear that it does so via some overzealous noise reduction. The camera records 1,842 lines per picture height, which is better than the 1,800 lines required for a sharp photo. I used Imatest to check the sharpness of images captured by the X600. The Olympus SP-620UZ starts faster-it boots in 1.9 seconds and notches a 0.2-second shutter lag, but is limited to snapping a full-resolution photo once every 1.3 seconds at maximum resolution. In Continuous Drive mode it can shoot at an impressive 6.5 frames per second. It requires about 4 seconds to start and shoot and records a 0.4-second shutter lag. ![]() Performance and Conclusions The X600 is a slow camera to start and to fire. You also get Face Beautifier (which softens features), a panoramic shooting mode, and a black-and-white mode directly from the dial, and a number of scene modes (including Fireworks, Pets, and Snow) can be access via a software menu. You'll have access to Automatic, Manual, Program, and Shutter Priority modes-although there is no Aperture Priority mode available. There are a number of shooting modes built into the camera. The rear of the camera features buttons to adjust Exposure Compensation, change the autofocus area, enable macro shooting, control the flash output, and activate the self timer. There's a mode dial on the top, as well as buttons to start video recording and to control the Drive Mode. GE doesn't publish the resolution for the EVF, but it is acceptably sharp. It's especially useful for zoomed shots, as it makes it possible to hold the camera closer to your body to get a steadier shot. Separating itself from other cameras in this price range, the X600 does have an eye-level electronic viewfinder. There's no hard protective cover, so some care should be taken when stowing the camera in your bag-you don't want to damage or scratch the LCD accidentally. The rear LCD is 2.7 inches, but is a little bit on the soft side due to its low 230k-dot resolution. It exceeds the zoom range of the similarly styled and priced Olympus SP-620UZ -its 21x zoom lens starts at 25mm, but only zooms to 525mm. The 26x zoom lens covers an impressive 26-676mm f/3.2-5.6 (35mm equivalent) range. |
